practicing ubuntu

Last night I wept.

I cried tears that were birthed from deep within my gut.

Tears of joy and gratitude, I cried last night.

While rejoicing and thanking God, for all the people that I have met along the way, who chose to love and care for me, I remembered a conversation that I had with a dear friend.

He is a man who has seen somethings.

He is a man who has overcome somethings.

He is a man who is wise beyond measure.

He is man who will tell you that he is who he is because of the many people who chose to love and care for him when he was at his best and worst.

He is hospitable. He is compassionate. He is thoughtful. His is honest.

He is ubuntu.

When I needed it most, a stranger welcomed me.

He was my ubuntu.

Go forth and be someone’s ubuntu.

cheering you on…
